The initialterm of the agreement is 20 years.The aim of the cooperation is that the two parties form a long-termstrategic alliance. The agreement includes the development and manufactureof up to seven mini excavator models with an operating weight up to threetons designed to Caterpillar's specifications and brand requirements atWacker Neuson's production plant in Linz, Austria. The mini excavators willbe distributed and supported via Caterpillar's worldwide global dealernetwork, with the exception of Japan. All Caterpillar models will beclearly differentiated from comparable Wacker Neuson models in the sameproduct range.The partnership will enable both parties to spread the cost of developingand manufacturing across higher volumes and Caterpillar to increase thenumber of models offered to its distribution.The additional production volume for Wacker Neuson is expected to more thandouble the current production volume of mini excavators below 3 tons atWacker Neuson's plant in Linz, Austria and would come into full effect notearlier than 2012.
