Order intake for compact equipment for the construction andagricultural industries remains strong and the Group's strategies areenabling it to capitalize on emerging market opportunities.Continued high demandAlready during the first six months of the year, the Group benefited fromstrong demand for light equipment, in particular, and increasingly also forcompact equipment. This development was fueled by the upswing in theeconomy. Group performance has remained on a positive track since then.Accumulated order intake for compact equipment for the construction andagricultural industries remains strong. Growth is up 90 percent on theprevious year. As anticipated, supply bottlenecks have eased in themeantime, enabling the Group to further reduce the considerable orderbacklog for construction equipment reported in June despite the continuinghigh number of incoming orders. This has enabled us to reduce our backlogto some extent and to also reduce delivery times.Synergies contribute to positive business developmentThe merged company is increasing market share by leveraging synergies inits sales and distribution structures. The Group, which has seen asignificant upswing in its light equipment business, particularly in theAmericas, for more than a year now, is also offering its compact equipmentportfolio to more and more markets outside of Europe via its existing salesand distribution network. Also demand for compact equipment in SouthAmerica is currently developing particularly positively.Success at GalabauAt the end of September, the Group successfully showcased the benefits ofits broad portfolio at Galabau, the largest gardening and landscaping tradefair for German-speaking countries, held in Nuremberg, Germany. 'Ourproducts generated a huge amount of interest at this year's Galabau,'reports Werner Schwind, Executive Board member for sales at Wacker Neuson.'Order intake was up 70 percent as compared to the last fair in 2008.That's an exceptionally good result for a bauma year.'International growth strategyWacker Neuson will continue to benefit from the systematic execution of itsstrategies.
