Meet The Future

Shaping the future
of the company

Shaping the future, driving change, making a difference – the non-stop evolution of the Wacker Neuson Group is powered by its many employees. Young members of the team forge their own career paths at Wacker Neuson, Kramer and Weidemann, creating a space where new ideas can be heard and turned into action.

International support network – every step of the way

The corporate culture at Wacker Neuson is open-minded. This means supporting employees, communicating openly, being flexible and encouraging personal development. Thammy Lang, Project and Marketing Manager with Wacker Neuson in the Netherlands, was impressed by the relocation assistance she received from her employer. She has been working for Wacker Neuson since 2015 – initially in South Africa in a marketing role and after that in dealer and sales support. Looking to the future, she decided to start a new life with her family in Europe. “My dream was to move to a different country with my family – but to keep the same employer,” explains Ms. Lang. “Once my husband had found a job in the Netherlands, the idea started to take shape. Wacker Neuson supported me every step of the way,” continues Ms. Lang. “I’m lucky to have such a great employer.”

Her colleagues helped her to reach out to the right contacts in the Netherlands and identify tasks and responsibilities suited to her profile. Even when it came tologistical challenges – such as finding schools, understanding how the healthcare system works and navigating red tape – her Wacker Neuson colleagues in the Netherlands provided a highly supportive network. Ms. Lang has been settled in her new home and workplace since July 2022. “Relocating to the Netherlands was the right decision for me, both personally and professionally. And Wacker Neuson made it much easier for me and my family to start our new life together.”

Variety is the spice of life

Kramer develops products for customers in two different industries: construction and agriculture. Sebastian Knittel, Area Sales Manager Agriculture for Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland, has worked in both segments during his years with Kramer and puts his experience to good use every day.

The chance to travel the world for my work and meet all kinds of people was always a big dream of mine. I was able to realize that dream through my job at Kramer.

He began his career in product management and spent four years as a technical trainer, supporting both the construction and agricultural sales teams at Kramer. “I really enjoyed the variety,” reveals Mr. Knittel. “Not just variety within my work, but also the cultural diversity.” As well as delivering training on site at Kramer, he got to travel to countries like Sweden, Finland, Poland and South Korea. “The chance to travel the world for my work and meet all kinds of people was always a big dream of mine. I was able to realize that dream through my job at Kramer.”

Kramer challenges its people, but also develops them by investing in their future skills. In 2021, it gave Mr. Knittel the opportunity to take part in a six-month development program for sales staff. “The program was really helpful for both my professional and personal development.”

Exploring strengths

Young talent is the future of every company. Lorenz Ulrich started working for Weidemann straight after school, completing an apprenticeship as an industrial technician. He learned the basic skills for his job in the training workshop – including filing, drilling, turning and milling. As part of the apprenticeship, he got to put those skills into practice. At Weidemann, all apprentices get hands-on experience from the get-go as they are encouraged to carry out maintenance tasks or mark spare parts, for example. The apprentices are also taught how to use CNC technology.

Being part of a group of companies was hugely appealing for me. We collaborate in cross-company projects with apprentices from the other brands and locations, which makes the learning experience really exciting for me.

“Weidemann equipment made quite an impression on me when I was a kid, which is why I chose to do an apprenticeship here,” explains Mr. Ulrich. “We rotate around the company, and this helps everyone to explore their own strengths.” After learning the basic skills, the Weidemann apprentices support their colleagues across the widest range of departments – from maintenance and repair to development, testing and validation. Depending on the apprentices’ strengths and interests, they are typically offered a permanent position on completion of their training.

Weidemann is keen to inspire and attract the next generation of talent as early as possible on the learning pathway. It organizes workshop seminars, where apprentices share their work experiences with school-goers.“My working day is never boring, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly everywhere in the company. We collaborate in cross-company projects with apprentices from the other brands and locations, which makes the learning experience really exciting for me,” says Mr. Ulrich.

All employees contribute to the Wacker Neuson Group’s success story. Together, they are shaping the company’s future.
