KRAMER and CLAAS to end collaboration in telescopic handlers for the agricultural sector from 2018

(Munich, June 24, 2015) Kramer-Werke GmbH, a member of the Wacker Neuson Group, and the CLAAS Group, headquartered in the German town of Harsewinkel, have reached a mutual agreement to terminate their strategic alliance in the area of agricultural telescopic handlers as of 2018. Customers are assured the long-term availability of services and spare parts even after the collaboration has ended.

"We have been working together for a decade now. The decision to end this collaboration was not easy for either party. However, the move will enable both companies to adapt their individual corporate strategies to dynamic market trends and capitalize on market opportunities. We are grateful to CLAAS for the many years of great collaboration," explains Cem Peksaglam, CEO of the Wacker Neuson Group.

Kramer-Werke GmbH has been developing and manufacturing high-quality agricultural telescopic handlers for CLAAS at its site in Pfullendorf, Germany since 2005. CLAAS distributes the machines worldwide under the CLAAS SCORPION brand. The Wacker Neuson Group markets these telescopic handlers in the construction sector via its own sales organizations under the KRAMER and WACKER NEUSON brands.

From 2018 on, the two partners will be operating independently in these telescopic handler markets. The strategic alliance will continue until this time. On termination of the alliance, the Wacker Neuson Group plans to continue to execute its successful sales strategies and does not expect any significant impact on Group revenue and earnings.

The agricultural sector is already a key strategic market for the Wacker Neuson Group and will increase in importance. The Group already has a strong position in the agricultural wheel loader and telescopic handler segment through its WEIDEMANN brand, which has a long tradition in the sector. In future, the group aims to strengthen the WEIDEMANN brand by expanding the portfolio to include high-quality telescopic handlers with lifting heights of over 6 meters. This will also enable the KRAMER brand to offer its sales partners and customers an even more attractive and extensive range of wheel loaders and telescopic handlers under its green agricultural line. Kramer-Werke GmbH Kramer-Werke GmbH was founded in 1925 by brothers Anton, Hans and Karl Kramer. Originally based in the German town of Gutmadingen, the company started out making compact tractors for the agricultural sector. It soon grew into one of the market's leading tractor manufacturers, and has already sold over 100,000 machines to customers in the agricultural market. In 1987, Kramer successfully expanded into the construction sector with the launch of its first all-wheel drive wheel loader, establishing a leading market position that it holds to this day. In 2000, Kramer-Werke was acquired by Neuson Baumaschinen GmbH. In 2007, it became part of the Wacker Neuson Group following the merger of the then Wacker Construction Equipment AG and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG. This year sees Kramer celebrate its 90th anniversary.
