New site near Koblenz in Germany to optimize spare parts availability

Central European location for future-proof spare parts deliveries

Wacker Neuson Aftermarket & Service GmbH, the Wacker Neuson Group company responsible for global spare parts deliveries, plans to operate a logistics center in Mülheim-Kärlich near the German city of Koblenz. Real-estate developer Dietz AG is building the logistics center on a plot spanning 105,000 square meters, with a total storage footprint of 55,000 square meters. Built in line with the latest sustainability standards defined by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and set to receive that body’s platinum certification, the new logistics center will equip the Wacker Neuson Group with future-proof warehousing facilities.

“The new logistics site will take our global spare parts capabilities to the next level,” explains Andrew Voigt, Managing Director of Wacker Neuson Aftermarket & Services GmbH. “Thanks to its excellent strategic location, between Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt airports, and its state-of-the-art warehousing technology, we will be able to offer our customers even better service.” Construction work is scheduled for completion in 2023 and the facility should commence operations in 2024 with approximately 130 employees working on site.

As well as storing around 100,000 spare parts for light and compact equipment across all three Group brands – Wacker Neuson, Kramer and Weidemann – the new site will offer additional services to optimize customer support. Logistics expert Kuehne+Nagel Group will be responsible for site operations. This move strengthens the long-standing, successful collaboration between the Wacker Neuson Group and Kuehne+Nagel. Real-estate consultant JLL acted as an intermediary for Wacker Neuson in locating and leasing the space.
