The city center friendly
Construction site
This is what the construction site of the future looks like: With low-noise and emission-free working machines that are geared to the needs of customers and society, the Wacker Neuson Group offers future-proof added value.
As quiet and emission-free as possible
In the center of Stuttgart, between the Town Hall and the landmark Stiftungskirche church, lies a construction site. The city’s market square is getting a facelift, with works to make it brighter, more welcoming and more modern due to be completed in summer 2022. The challenge lies in completing these modernization works with minimal noise and no emissions. To achieve this, the project contractor LEONHARD WEISS, a long-standing partner of the Wacker Neuson Group, decided to try out the entire zero emission family on the Stuttgart site. “We really like the fact that the electric machines and construction equipment have the same power as conventional ones,” notes Simon Schall, Head of Central Machine Technology at LEONHARD WEISS. “Looking at daily usability, we have fewer maintenance points than combustion models, and our drivers or operators have a much more intuitive experience.”

Local residents are also benefiting from the use of these zero emission products as the construction site is quieter overall. Whether battery-powered rammers, wheel loaders or excavators – all machines in the zero emission family are ideal for city center deployments. Looking ahead, they also have the potential to help contractors comply with increasingly strict emission and noise regulations on construction sites. In addition, the emission-free and whisper-quiet machines from Wacker Neuson are playing a key role in the move towards a net zero future.
Modular battery system: The same powerful lithium-ion battery powers rammers, vibratory plates and an internal vibrator system for concrete compaction.
Innovation driven by customer feedback
“Feedback from users in the field is extremely important to us,” says Kai Hieber, Manager Sales South-West at Wacker Neuson in Germany. He rates the cooperation with LEONHARD WEISS
very highly and stresses the importance of long-standing partnerships in inspiring ongoing product development. Meanwhile, the benefits of zero emission solutions are not just limited to the environment and local residents. With maintenance-free electric motors and flexible, highperformance battery systems, this equipment matches the on-site performance of conventional models. This translates into financial gains for customers, who benefit from streamlined construction site logistics and lower operating and maintenance costs.
