Sustainability management

Sustainability management

The Wacker Neuson Group is a leading global manufacturer of high quality construction equipment and compact construction machines. The range of services is aimed at "professional end users" in the construction, gardening and landscaping architecture and agricultural industries as well as for local authorities and companies in industry, such as the recycling industry. Sustainable action optimizes processes and products and is therefore a crucial component of the economic success of the Wacker Neuson Group.

Set up to be capable of action
The topics of sustainability and environment are channeled through our company via a CSR steering committee. Our strategy here for topic areas important to us, as well as the associated planning and budgeting, will be discussed and approved at regular intervals. Central and specialized areas pertain to the CSR steering committee, as well as to the managing board.

Energy and environmental management systems

certified by TÜV RheinlandBoth management systems have been gradually introduced at the German and Austrian production and sales locations, European logistics center and at the corporate headquarters since 2014. For both management systems, there has been a group-wide energy and environmental policy in place since 2014, which commits the Group to constantly improving the environmental and energy-related services. The energy and environmental policy of the Wacker Neuson Group can be viewed here:

With the introduction of an environmental management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 the company aims to keep the negative effects of the value-added processes on the environment as low as possible (among others resource-conserving production waste, wastewater and emissions reduction).

With the use of an energy management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 50001 the company intends to improve its energy-related performance (e.g. their energy efficiency) by setting up the systems and processes necessary for this. In the process, unused energy efficiency potential should be tapped, energy costs reduced and the emission of greenhouse gases (for example of CO2 emissions), as well as other environmental effects from energy consumption should be reduced. The energy management system makes a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection.

Stakeholder dialogues create trust

Stakeholder groups observe and evaluate companies according to their actions. Among other things, the transparent integration of various interests into our sustainability program plays an important role in the process. For us, sustainability means responsible communication and joint learning with our stakeholders.

The aim is to define sustainability-related topics, joint priorities and essential aspects under this large umbrella and to establish a continuous, strategy-oriented dialogue process.

To this end, we perform regular surveys with our stakeholders. Particularly involved are all of our employees, customers, shareholders, suppliers, financial partners, representatives of public interests and residents of our locations, NGOs and not least, the general public.

The better we know our stakeholders, the more sustainable we can make our relationships with them, realize business opportunities and minimize risks at the same time.
