Energy and environmental management systems
Both management systems have been gradually introduced at the German and Austrian production and sales locations, European logistics center and at the corporate headquarters since 2014. The implementation at the production sites and the logistics center in the US is planned for 2017. For both management systems, there has been a group-wide energy and environmental policy in place since 2014, which commits the Group to constantly improving the environmental and energy-related services. With the introduction of an environmental management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 the company aims to keep the negative effects of the value-added processes on the environment as low as possible (among others resource-conserving production waste, wastewater and emissions reduction).
With the use of an energy management system in accordance with the international standard DIN EN ISO 50001 the company intends to improve its energy-related performance (e.g. their energy efficiency) by setting up the systems and processes necessary for this. In the process, unused energy efficiency potential should be tapped, energy costs reduced and the emission of greenhouse gases (for example of CO2 emissions), as well as other environmental effects from energy consumption should be reduced. The energy management system makes a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection.
